  Kathryn Templeton, MA, RDT/MT, E500RYT, C-IAYT and an Ayurvedic Practitioner  who has devoted her life to the health of others. A psychotherapist for more than 30 years, Kathryncontinues to work both clinically and as an educator specializing in the treatment of individuals with complex trauma. As a Yoga Therapist, NAMA-Certified Ayurvedic practitioner, Kathryn has worked to develop specialized treatments integrating the principles of yoga, Ayurveda and clinical psychology. Kathryn is currently a Faculty member at the (HI) Himalayan Institute in Honesdale, PA. She is the Founder and Director of all of the HI Ayurvedic Programs including the new (AYT) Ayurvedic Yoga Therapist Program . Kathryn is a contributing writer, and educator for Yoga International website and an Ambassador for Banyan Botanicals; most importantly she is a Branford mom of three amazing kids!

We will also discuss ways to minimize exposure and decrease the overall risk of this toxic chemical that has made its way into every aspect of our food system- from fresh produce, to packaged goods and everyday staples, to beers, wines and spirits, and even into " health-food" products.

Join Certified Clinical Herbalist, Courtney Cucinotta, as she introduces us to different ways we can use herbs for supporting and nourishing the nervous system. We will talk about herbs that are calming and relaxing as well as nourishing and replenishing to our minds, bodies and Spirits. Courtney will share some daily practices that you can implement into your life for self care and nurturing. Some of these rituals include herbal bathing, smudging, prayerful smoking and fresh plant oil massage.

 Courtney Cucinotta is a Certified Clinical Herbalist. She studied Western herbalism at the Rocky Mountain Center for Botanical Studies in Boulder, CO between 1995 and 2000. Her schooling included herbal therapeutics, anatomy and physiology, botany, pharmacy, medicine making, nutrition, ethical wildcrafting, Shamanic journeying and clinical herbalism. She was trained to view the whole person when it comes to healing and therefore, considers the role of the body, mind and spirit when helping someone heal from an imbalance.  Courtney's deepest interest lies in the spiritual aspect of illness, as well as the emotional and physical influences of imbalance. She has had the honor of studying with many amazing herbalists and healers over the past twenty years; including two very respected Shamans from Ecuador. Rocio Alcaron and Alverto Taxco have both influenced Courtney’s view on healing and she brings their wisdom and teachings into her work. Courtney’s healing practice includes the use of Sacred Smudging (the burning of Sacred plants) to cleanse and heal, as well as the use of herbal teas, salves, tinctures, steams, and oils.
